About
Isadora Israel is a Swedish-American artist born in New York and currently based in Malmö, working across Sweden, primarily in Stockholm, Malmö, and Bergslagen. She holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (2024) and a BA in Design from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg (2021).
Her practice moves through drawing, assemblage, and sculptural gestures, tracing subtle transitions and partial presences. Working with materials such as expanded metal, thread, and semi-transparent parchment, she constructs layered environments in which tension, stillness, and movement coexist. Drawing is central to her work—not only as image, but as condition, structure, surface, and space.
A body, suggested rather than depicted, often anchors the work, hovering between figure and abstraction. Her installations evoke atmospheres shaped by fragility, resonance, and material sensitivity, where meaning remains in flux rather than resolution.
